Red Wine

I am a red wine drinker… I like all kinds of red wines. The most common are Pinot Noir, Chianti and Valpolicella. Yes I like Italian wines. I am a simple man with simple tastes. I am also cheap. I will buy a $20 bottle of La Crema and I am splurging. I ran across a new wine last night that I had not heard of and I was impressed.
It is described as : “Dark ruby red with purple highlights this wine is rich and full bodied with balanced acidity. The texture is silky on the palate with aromas of black fruits, raspberries and cherries. Great structure and a real depth of flavor.”
Illuminati Riparosso Montepulciano d’ Abruzzo is the wine. I have looked and it gets very good reviews. It was mild, not too dry, but full bodied in flavor. The fruits are not over powering, but very noticeable. To me black cherries where the primary fruit flavor.
For $14.95 a bottle, this was an awesome buy and highly recommended. I found it at Whole Foods, but looking online it looks like it can be found in other places.
I picked it up because the Vineyard was called Illuminati, and ended up with a very nice wine that I am recommending to thos who like Italian reds.
