Alice
July 7th, 2008 Posted in UnspecificI was poking around IMDB while watching a movie this past weekend, and ran across some interesting stuff. If you know me, you know I am a bit obsessed with Alice, and the characters created by Lewis Carroll. My handle, my machine names, etc… Anyway, I found out the Sarah Michelle Gellar will be playing Alice in an upcoming movie called “Alice” based on American McGee‘s Alice, an awesome game that I still play 8 years after it was released. According to IMDB,
“The game takes place after her second adventure Through the Looking-Glass And what Alice Found There. A candle in Alice’s house is knocked to the floor by a cat and causes the house to catch fire – Alice luckily survives, but her parents die. Alice enters a deep state of catatonia and is institutionalized in an Asylum. After being in the asylum for several years, she responds to a mysterious summons to return to Wonderland, and the place is barely recognizable. Something has gone very wrong. Undaunted by the diseased atmosphere, confusion and mortal danger that surrounds her, Alice commits to restore Wonderland to its proper state, in hopes of regaining her sanity as well.”
I love the concept and I really hope they do it justice. Oh and no SMG is not Playing Alice, that is how I found the film, but she is no longer involved.
While looking at the FAQ on this movie I ran across a couple of others, “Phantasmagoria: The Visions of Lewis Carroll” that is Marilyn Manson playing Lewis Carroll and something or else… Not sure about this one yet. The other Mr. Manson was cast to play the Queen in another Alice film, “Living Neon Dreams” but I can’t find much on it and the link IMDB game me was “Page Not Found” so there you go…
I know I am excited.
